Some stories stay with you.
Tahnya Brown’s is one of them. Tahnya spent 1,447 days caring for her father. Let that sink in…. In that time, she experienced what so many caregivers quietly carry: the love, the exhaustion, the responsibility, and the feeling that somewhere along the way, you can begin to lose pieces of yourself. Her book, Blurred, gives a voice to that experience.
What moved me most about Tahnya’s story is that it isn’t only about caregiving. It’s about identity. Strength. Loss. Love. And the difficult journey of finding yourself again after you have spent so much time being everything for someone else. Tahnya reminds us that being strong does not mean doing everything alone… and that the person doing the caring deserves to be seen, supported, and cared for too.
Trust me, this was a tough one for her!! I’m honored that Tahnya is one of the first stories I get to share. Learn more about Tahyna at www.Tahnco.com and Tahn & Co. For Family Caregivers where you can purchase the book, sign up for her newsletter “Reprieve” and her app, “Dara”.
This is exactly why I created Karen Konnects: to introduce you to remarkable people, share the stories that deserve to be heard, and hopefully leave us all a little more connected than we were before.
Please like, share and tell us about your caregiver stories! But most of all remember, you are not alone in this journey. Real People. Real Stories. Real Impact. Contact Karen Konnects about doing an Interview for you! https://karenkonnects.us
